Hi Parents
May 2012
May is a busy month as we get ready for Mother’s Tea and end-of-the-year festivities. The children are working very hard to prepare for a special afternoon to honor Mom for Mother’s Day. Shhh…..it’s a secret!
In May, we learn many things about insects, and even have a fun unit on Bible bugs. There will be lots of exciting predictions and observations with insects. The children will get plenty of hands-on experiences and learn to recognize many different insects in their neighborhood. We will have an ant farm set up in the classroom, and we will be looking for insects outside in their natural habitat as well.
The children are practicing some special songs that we have learned throughout the year for our Recognition Day on the last day of school. Parents are asked to sign up to bring a snack food to share. Our celebration begins as families arrive and participate in a table activity. The children will sing, and the teachers will present children with a certificate of completion for the Pre-K year. Then families can enjoy the many memories and accomplishments of the year as we share food and fellowship together.
Let the celebration begin!
